FIRE WEATHER WATCH
The Orlean Vol Fire & Rescue Dept (OVFRD) reminds you to heed this message from the Fauquier County Emergency Manager:
The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the potential of high fire danger, which is in effect from Wednesday late morning through Wednesday evening.
THERE’S A FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR NORTHERN, CENTRAL, AND NORTHWEST VIRGINIA, THE WASHINGTON DC METRO, AND THE EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA PANHANDLE.
The Watch includes all of Fauquier County. We can expect:
* WINDS…West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 20 percent.
* IMPACTS…The combination of dry conditions, low humidity, and
strong gusty winds may result in favorable conditions for the
rapid spread of fires.
* FUEL MOISTURE…Less than 10 percent for 10 hour fuels.
